Braxton has his check up for his leg today. If you don't remember, this is what his foot looked like when he was born. We did several casts and braces as well!

A few days old

Braxton has been doing very well, he is walking and running. We did notice that his heal has not been touching the ground all the way. The doctor, whom we love, was a little concerned with it not touching the ground. He said that
Braxton is a difficult case, but he can usually really tell if a child needs surgery for this or not and
Braxton is just right in between. He is afraid if we do the surgery where he clips his a
chilles tendon that he will loose stability in his foot. So we are going to try something new.
Braxton will be going to a neurologist hopefully in early January. They will give him some
meds to make him sleepy and then he will get a
Botox injection in his calf muscle. Then he will play like normal for 3 weeks while the
botox relaxes his muscles and tendons. After that we will go back to the orthopedic specialist and he will put a cast on
Braxton's leg for 3-4 weeks to help the tendon stay stretched. We are really praying that this option will be effective for
Braxton and that he will do well in a cast!
