My Bad Day gets Worse!
Today, started not so good. Brock woke up at 12:30am, 2:40am, 3:00am, and finally at 3:30am I gave up and went and slept with him on the couch. He was ready to go at 6:30! So needless to say I started the day very tired, since I had also had a migraine the night before. Brock did take a good morning nap, on me on the couch. Since we can't seem to master sleeping on our own. Then we went to lunch with Meg and Logan and Brock did great! We came home and it was time for our afternoon nap which is usually 2-3 hours. I layed on the couch with him and he refused to lay down because he wanted to play with Harley the dog. So I decided I would try laying him in his bed. I usually have to rock him or lay down with him. The first ten minutes he was happy. He was standing up bouncing in the bed. Then the screaming began. He cried for 30 minutes and I could not take it anymore. The tears were rolling down his cheeks. I layed down on the couch with him and he went right to sleep. I felt bad he had cried that long, but he needs to learn to go to sleep on his own someday, right? Then he only slept for about 20 minutes, which is way not long enough. He was really fussy so I decided we would take a bath. It had been a while since I had bathed, so we both happily got in. The bath always makes Brock happy except today. He cried while the water was going in( I guess it was too loud). He does not like loud noises. Then he started playing and threw up. So I drained all the water and filled it back up. In a few short minutes, he was pooping and the water had to be let out again. We got out and got ready to go shopping with Nana, Aunt Steph, Caleb, and Josiah. The mall went pretty well. I was so excited because I wanted to get a smoothie. So I ordered one, and I ordered the wrong thing. I thought I liked the smoothie, but I liked the fruit chillers. It was 3.25 so I did not reorder one. Luckily Brock liked it. Then we went to Nate's parents to drop off pictures. They had some extra dinner, so that was great for us. We ate and then we were getting ready to go. Nate said "where are your keys honey'? I said didn't know. I was using the spare pair since I lost my keys somewhere yesterday. Then Nate told me that when he pulled up to his parents that the light was on in my car so he turned it off, and that I had left it unlocked so he locked the car for me. As soon as he told me he locked the car, I knew my keys were in there. I always lock my car with the keyless entry thing. Sure enough, we went out there and they were in the seat. So we had to call a locksmith. Then I headed in his car to my parents house, because Brock's cup leaked all over his extra pair of clothes in his bag, and he spit up all over the clothes that he was wearing. So I got to my parents house and got some PJ's. Then Nate called and said they had found my original pair of keys. Nate's mom was looking for a passie for Brock and found my keys in my diaper bag, which I had looked in 2 times and Nate had looked once. So we got to cancel the locksmith. So I guess the day ended ok. It has made me very tired!
Tomorrow, I will post some pics from the zoo. Brock and I went to the zoo with some friends. We had a great time.

I know that it is annoying when other moms try to give you advice - but with 3 kids - that is the only thing that I feel like I can boast nowadays - motherly advice! So - here's the deal. You have got to put that boy down to bed awake and let him cry. He will cry forever the first night, shorter the next, shorter, shorter and then no more crying. I promise!!! What I have to do is go get in the shower or go outside or something after I put the baby down. We didnt do this with Kenzie until she was a year old and it was really hard but Chase got a hang of it at 3 months. He is perfect at going down to bed. Macy - we are still working on. Just try it. Our doctor said that as long as their pitch in the cry is changing every few minutes or so then they are okay! Good luck.
