Christmas Memory- Part 2

My second Christmas memory come from the first year Nate and I were married. I think anyone who is married can relate how much of an adjustment it is to be married, especially at the holiday season. Nate was very big into starting our own traditions for Christmas. I really wanted to go to church with one of our families on Christmas Eve and to dinner with the other on Christmas Eve. We were planning on splitting the time equally on Christmas. Nate wanted to go to our church and to eat on our own. I was a little sad, but I agreed to start our own family traditions. While shopping with my mom one day, I was thinking of how Nate wanted to start out own traditions, so I decided to start one for us. I bought us matching pajamas. I was so proud of myself, because I knew how important it was to Nate that we started our own traditions. So I called Nate and couldn't wait to tell him. His comment was "How gay, that is stupid". I was crushed. Keep in mind this was Christmas Eve. Upon returning to our apartment I immediately locked myself in the bathroom and cried. About an hour later Nate told me he was going to call my parents and we were going to church with them, so I came out of the bathroom and he apologized, and we went to our own church and to eat alone. The next Christmas Nate made me so proud. I did not even mention the matching pajamas and he came home one day with matching Pajamas for us to wear on Christmas Eve. I am so proud! That might be one of the most thoughtful things he has even done! I love him! Now we just worry about getting Brock some cute pajamas. How life changes with children!
