Papa

At the beginning of our Christmas Break, Papa(my mom's dad) fell and broke his hip. He had surgery and was moved to a nursing home to do rehab. One January 1 he went home to be with Jesus. He was a wonderful man. He was my Papa, my last grandparent living. Brock and him had a special bond. Brock loved him so much and always looked forward to visiting with him. He loved to go fishing with him and to play cards with him. Braxton loved him bunches too, and enjoyed time fishing and playing as well. Papa would always do everything he could to try to make sure they boys could catch a fish (even though I think they only ever caught 3.) He made the best streaks I have ever had and he always made sure each time that we visisted that we had steak even when he wasn't feeling well. He always made sure at least once while we were there to cook us a big breakfast, with some yummy bacon and ham. I hope someday I can cook bacon like Papa. There are so many things that we are all going to miss about Papa, but I am so glad he lived a wonderful 86 years, that my kids got to know their great grandpa, that I got to know my grandpa as an adult, and that he is now in heaven with Jesus!
